Winter Nectar

(Galanthus nivalis): These are real harbingers of Spring and are a welcome sight in January and February. Honey bees get pollen from them and, in warmer weather, a small amount of nectar. They spread into large clumps if left undisturbed, but are better divided, just after flowering, every few years. Using this system a large area can be covered with these delightful flowers.
