We are lucky to have Dewey Caron visiting us this year for the first County lecture. Dr. Caron is Professor of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware and has had a long and varied career, having been involved with bees and beekeeping for about 40 years. His research during that period has included work on pollination, bee mites and pests, queen replacement and swarming. He visited the Spring Convention a few years ago and proved to be an excellent speaker. Dr. Caron will be talking on 'Bee Nutrition', a topic of increasing importance. He will also be happy to answer questions on all sorts of other topics, particularly the problems currently being experienced in the States. The meeting will take place at 7.30pm in the National Bee Centre at Stoneleigh and, as usual, light refreshments will be available. This is an evening not to be missed.
